Winter delayed, heat here to stay

You will have to bear the seething heat in the city for some more time. Winter has been delayed and weathermen predict that the dip in the temperature will be seen by November-end.
At present, the temperature is three degree above normal, dashing hopes of an early winter. "The dip in the temperature right now is not substantial. Due to which the feel of 'October heat' is still lingering. With Mumbai being a coastal city, a marginal dip in temperature is not palpable. The beginning of winters is expected by end of this month," said VK Rajeev, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) director of western region.
The maximum temperature has been hovering between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius and the minimum between 22 to 25 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, the maximum temperature in the city stood at 35.6 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature was 22.6 degree Celsius.
IMD officials forecast that the maximum temperature in the coming week is likely to touch the 38 degree Celsius notch. Also, there will not be a remarkable plunge in the minimum temperature. "The weather will be dry and humid. Even if the temperature does not soar to 37 degrees, it would feel that it was much higher," said an IMD official.
