Ethnic wear is heavy on texture and embroidery and many a times, one wants to experiment with silhouettes and works that are a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary. However, in recent times, a blend of Indian and Western clothing has become a popular trend, also known as Indo-Western or fusion wear. By playing with the right colours and silhouettes, one can turn a boring ethnic look into chic. The trend is fast becoming a hot favourite amongst women, be it a festival or any other formal events. There are several designers who have taken to the designing of Indo-Western fusion garments. Designer Nikasha Tawadey says, "I feel it's a phenomenon that is slowly catching up in India.
