BANM elects new managing committee
The sixth election for the managing committee of Builders Association of Navi Mumbai (BANM) was held on September 24, 2011 at Vashi. For the first time in the history of BANM, the election was held between two panels of 15 candidates each. 15 members were elected; 14 from the first panel and one from the second.
Devang Trivedi and M. C. Sunny were elected with highest votes of 112 and 109 respectively out of total 154 votes. The other committee members include Bhachubhai Patel of Akshar Group, A. R. Khatri of Crescent Construction Co., Vasant Bhadra of Shirvawala Estate Developers, Dharmendra Karia of Choice Builders, E. V. Thomas of E. V. Homes, Govind Patel of Mahi Developers, Hemant Lakhani of Classic Group, Haresh Chheda of Shah & Chheda, Jayant Parikh of J. P. Builders, Nemchand Chheda of Chheda Group of Companies, Manish Bathija of Paradise Group, Mukesh Mathukiyaof Devkrupa Enterprises and Rasik Chauhan of Bhoomi Homes Pvt Ltd.
The election was conducted under the guidance of R. R. Kalambkar, Dy. Secretary APMC, Vashi. M. C. Sunny of National Builders was declared elected as president of BANM and Devang Trivedi of Progressive Homes was declared elected as secretary. The new BANM president stated that he would focus on pending matters concerning VAT, Service Tax, MMRDA, Civil Aviation, NMMC and CIDCO. He declared that the same shall be taken up with the concerned authorities including the state government at an early date.
