Ombudsmen in all indian govt depts soon

There may be ombudsmen in all state government departments, similar to those in banks and financial institutions, soon. Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan said that the ombudsmen will intervene in complaints against all government employees, except IAS officials.
The step has been taken to ensure speedy decisions relating to grievances the common man has against the state government. Chavan says that every department will have an ombudsman who will act as the nodal officer for grievance redressal. The ombudsmen will hear grievances against government employees and officers, and try to find a solution for citizens.
Chavan also announced that call centres would be started for grievances related to co-operative societies. Nearly three crore people are members of these societies, and their grievances are neglected. "The call centre will be a relief for these people," Chavan said.
