Utpal Shanghvi Global School & Prabhavati Padamshi Soni International Junior College

LEARNING HOW TO LEARN WITH SKILL SETS OF MODERN EDUCATION

Utpal Shanghvi Global School & Prabhavati Padamshi Soni International Junior College understand that the definition of “skillset” has completely changed in the current educational arena. Jayesh P Choksi, President, JPES, puts it as, “With artificial intelligence taking over world, it’s not just about learning but deciding “how to learn” which matters. They offer an array of subjects, learning concepts, field visits, industry devoted projects, teaching patterns and digital education which thoroughly prepares their students to take on global challenges of tomorrow.”

At USGS & PPSIJC, skill set training is introduced at a very young age to give students an opportunity to narrow down their subject choice. Rakhi Mukherjee, Principal, USGS & PPSIJC, says, “Professional courses like global perspectives, travel and tourism, media studies, art & design & environmental management have been recently introduced at school and college level, to nurture young aspirants in specific fields.”

With 541 A*s and A’s in IGCSE, 82 at the A Level and 100% SSC results, the school raises a bar each time when it comes to their academic performance. No doubt, they have 19 World Toppers and 65 India toppers up their sleeves.

Coming to the sports front, USGS & PPSIJC are super proud to have claimed the Silver medal in the 3/4 B playoff at the Gothia Cup (Football) at Sweden and were the only Indian school to walk in the Parade of Nations there. The martial arts team won the championship and a large number of gold, silver and bronze medals at the competitions in Manchester, U.K. and Budapest, Hungary.

The institution boasts of an up-todate AV department where students get hands on experience on all aspects of film making. ‘Ek Asha Ki Kiran’, a film curated and executed by the students won the Silver Beaver Award at the 8th National Science Film Festival, India 2018.

Blitzing, USGS & PPSIJC’s mega annual event, orchestrated in house, is an epitome of creativity and innovation. Organising the GC MUN, now two years in succession, with the best executive board, the institution enriches educational opportunities for students, inculcating diplomacy within them, honing their communication skills and helping them develop art of negotiation.

The school’s sustainable development project - Adoption of Village sensitizes students, makes them socially aware of harsh realities of life and helps them come up with relevant solutions.

Abha Dharam Pal, CEO, USGS & PPSIJC gladly mentioned, “We are the only South Asian school to represent the Cambridge International Community of 600 schools on Cambridge International Education Advisory Board. Our Principal, Rakhi Mukherjee is one of the representatives of the 9 Cambridge zones of the world.”
