CELEBRATE NINE DAYS OF NAVRATRI WITH THESE NINE COLOURS

Navratri, the nine-day long festival dedicated to worship Maa Durga is round the corner. The festival will see the nine forms of Durga worshipped on all the nine days.

The nine nights during the festival will see celebration in the form of garba and dandiya with devotees turning up in grand finery to dance away the night after pujas during the day. In recent times, we have seen women right from working professionals, to students and homemakers following a colour code when it comes to dressing up — whether it is for school, college or office during the day or for dance celebrations at night. Men too are not left behind as they enthusiastically participate in dressing up in the assigned colours. The colour code is not just for the dress, it is also for jewellery and accessories.

The colour code changes every year depending on what day of the week the festival starts, after which it follows a fixed cycle.

So, if you want to follow the pattern, here are the days and colours for Navratri 2018 which starts tomorrow.
