Artist Bina Aziz’s upcoming art show explores the art of gold leafing
| ||
Artist Bina Aziz, wife of musician Talat Aziz, has
joined hands with The Gold Leafing Studio (TGLS) to come up with a
unique art show titled The Renaissance Redefined — centered around the
art of gold leafing. “Gold leafing is an ancient art. However, with the
evolution of arts and the development of art forms, this style has moved
beyond just the gold pattern as silver, champagne, bronze, patina and
antique leafing too began to catch the eye. Including it in paintings
has now become a contemporary style,” she says.
The exhibit will feature a signature line by the artist. The highlight of the show is a specially designed chair by Bina which has been carved by the craftsmen at the studio with real 24 karat goldleafing to enhance the beauty of the design. Besides, visitors too can get a chance to actually design a frame in their own style with gold leafing. A self-taught artist, Bina’s medium is mainly oils and acrylic. Her passion for art and music continues to inspire her to have several art and music related cultural events for various organisations in India and abroad thus promoting cross cultural relations across borders. |
