'We are initiating a unique system to assist buyers'
Manju Yagnik, Co-Chairperson of the Exhibition Committee, MCHI, and Vice-Chairperson of Nahar Group, explains why the upcoming MCHI exhibition is a win-win scenario for those conducting a home search and some of the USPs they could look forward to
As a premier body of the housing Industry in Maharashtra, MCHI has been looking after the interests of both, developers and home buyers. Our exhibitions are successful over the past 16 years mainly because we have been consistently adapting ourselves to the fast changing customer trends and also displaying a range of housing options including those that meet the critical financial needs of home buyers.
MCHI Exhibitions are the largest and the most awaited housing event in the country, and people look forward to keeping date with MCHI exhibition every year. No wonder that foot-falls have been significantly on the rise year after year. And what's more, for the last two years, the increased revenue generated from entry fees has been donated to a charity 'Clean Cities Society of India', an agency which works with 32 slums in Mumbai for the welfare and betterment of the slum dwellers!
Yet another key aspect is the growing trust of customers in MCHI exhibitions since they are assured of safe and secure process while buying their homes from the developers who exhibit their products. It's equally remarkable that over a period of time, there has been a significant increase in the numbers of developers who do not otherwise advertise their projects, participating in MCHI Exhibitions.
In our exhibitions, we have successfully created a platform for buyers and sellers and a precious venue for information exchange and discussions. It's not only a question of number of transactions that take place during and after the exhibitions but also getting further insights about the market trends.
At the October Exhibition this year, we are initiating a unique system whereby a customer could register his name along with details of his specific requirements for his home including location, size of the flat, budget etc., with MCHI. This in turn would be circulated amongst the developers who have flats that meet these very expectations. You would appreciate that this initiative would facilitate both the customer and buyer.
Modified projects based on the customer feedback received at the earlier exhibitions, new developers, new project offerings and special offers are expected to be the highlights in our exhibition. Of course as before, all the segments including budget, mid-segment and luxurious situated across Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune and other key Indian cities would be covered.
There will be increased participation from leading banks and housing finance institutions offering a variety of home loan products that would enable spot sanctions for buyers. Considering the sustained interest of NRIs in Mumbai's real estate sector, customized products will also be presented. A special cell for redressing customer grievances would continue to be in place.
MCHI will follow its established policy of exhibiting approved and upcoming projects. Further, in addition to the 'Kids Corner', which was a hit with visitors in March this year, MCHI would continue the facility of pre-registering through a website, SMS or via a call center, which will be set up at the venue itself for added customer comfort.
The twin objectives of MCHI exhibitions, to give multi-fold options and comforts to prospective home buyers and to offer opportunities to developers to tap the growing potential through these exhibitions, will be met at the October 2011 exhibition.
