Having styled everyone from
Hrithik Roshan to Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra to Deepika Padukone,
Adhuna Akhtar leads the team behind some of the most well-known, game
changing looks of Indian cinema. She's also the founder of one of the
most famous salon chains around, BBlunt. Today , Adhuna and her team
are at the top of the nation's styling industry for several
reasons.Styling Bollywood is one -the team has worked on over 60 movies
including trendsetters Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya, Zindagi Na Milegi
Dobara, Rock On, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Dil Dhadakne Do. Then, there is
the growing chain of the brand's salons, training academies, and most
recently , the newly launched hair care products being sold nationwide.
Adhuna and her team always felt that the products available to the
Indian consumer weren't
quite right for Indian hair.“Typically , ours is a combination of
Caucasian and Asian hair types, so it needs special attention.Most big
brand products are simply brought in to the country and sold to Indian
consumers but very few have been designed for Indian hair and Indian
weather.“
So, they got together with one of the country's top laboratory , partnering with Godrej, a fore runner in the FMCG league, and studied Indian hair in depth. They then brought all of the finest products from around the world and set about understanding what made them good and how they could be bettered. The result was the BBlunt product range -brightly coloured and beautifully designed, the bottles almost feel like one of their salons -funky , bold, professional and exciting. Bottling over 15 years of Bollywood and styling expertise and bringing you salon-like perfection at home. “It's been a long process but when you're going to be using them every day in salons and on film sets, they need to stand up to a heavy work load,“ she explains.
