A unique amalgamation
Five different artists will showcase their work at this exhibition

Bringing together five different artists, this show titled Figurative Five will feature works of Gautom Patole, Subrata Sen, Kiran Chopra, Prithvi Sen and Rupali Madan.
Each artist specialises in a different style of art. “Each one of us is from a different background and is good at our own style,” says Gautam, who does charcoal paintings on Italian paper. He dabbled in ceramic painting for a few years but his love for black and white developed as a photojournalist made him look at charcoal. “Charcoal lets me bring that love for black and white onto paper,” he says.
Since each of the five artists has a unique approach, the show will have on display a variety of art forms — abstract, figurative, landscape, traditional and also images from rural India. Visitors will also get to see sculptures done by Rupali who is one of the few women sculptors in the country. She makes her creations in wood, metal, stone and also wields the paint brush with ease. Her works like titled Secured and Touch will be on display at the exhibition.
A veteran among the group showcasing her work is Kiran Chopra, who is a national award winner and known for her unique style of painting, of carving black on white paper, lending it a 3D effect.
