Papadopoulos ruled out
Greece suffered a blow on Saturday as it was announced central defender Avraam Papadopoulos was out of the remainder of Euro 2012 with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The 27-year-old Olympiakos star had to go off in the first-half of the opening match against Poland, and a scan revealed the injury was serious enough to rule him out of the tournament.
Spanish fan found murdered
A Spanish football fan was found murdered nearly a month after going missing in the small town of Makeyevka in the Donetsk region. Local police had launched a search for the 46-year-old man тАФwho was holidaying in the region ahead of Euro 2012 тАФ after staff at the hotel he was staying in at Makeyevka reported him missing.
Hodgson wary of racist attack
England manager Roy Hodgson has expressed fear over his Three Lions team being subjected to racial abuse during Euro 2012. Hodgson said he was aware of the potential threat his black players might face in Ukraine. тАЬThe risk of racism exists and we will probably have to deal with it,тАЭ The Telegraph quoted Hodgson, as saying.
Gullit hits out at UEFA
Former Holland captain Ruud Gullit has hit out at UEFAтАЩs diktat that victims of racist abuse who leave the pitch without permission from the referee will be yellow carded. тАЬUEFA have given referees the power to stop a game and I am behind that. The problem needs to be tackled straight away, so players shouldnтАЩt just keep quiet and play on like in my day,тАЭ said Gullit.
Defoe rejoins England squad
England striker Jermain Defoe has rejoined the European Championship squad after flying home following the death of his father. Defoe arrived back at the teamтАЩs hotel in the Polish city of Krakow on Saturday morning.

Polish police say they have detained four Ukrainian feminists after they removed their shirts in front of WarsawтАЩs National Stadium to protest against the European Championship. The women belong to Femen, which opposes Euro 2012 in fear of prostitution.
