The traditional choli has endured many a makeover with its back subjected to many experiments. From low-cut designs to the “fully-exposed” look with just a few strings to hold the choli in place, the backless style has made women look their sensual best during the festive season. Speaking about the backless cholis trend, Lavina Amresar, a Mulund-based fashion designer, said, “The ethnic look of the choli is enhanced by embroidery, sequins, crystals, kundan stones, zardozi, aari thread work and mirror work. We not only design the traditional cholis, but also weave in an innovate mix of modern and ethnic elements to make bustiers, noodle straps, short necks, sleeveless and halter neck cholis. The latest colours in trend are black with red or silver borders. Green and dark blue too look appealing.” In fact, backless chaniya cholis have become a craze among women, particularly, the younger ones. Shriya Momaya, a resident of Thane, said, “I bought quite a few backless cholis in different colours, cuts, and designs as part of my Diwali shopping. The backless style is perfect with the Indo-western theme in most Diwali events. Moreover, it’s a class apart.” Jinal Shah, another resident of Thane, said, “I have roped in a Bandra-based designer to make a backless outfit for me this Diwali. The outfit has a low back tied with bead strings.Such backless designer outfits have become a style statement among teenagers like me who want to look gorgeous on Diwali. Though backless cholis and low-cut blouses are a rage during the festival of lights, one needs a well-sculpted and toned back to flaunt them. Women are busy getting layers of dead skin removed from their backs. Mrs Geeta Kothari, who owns beauty salon in Thane, said, “Women generally go for gorgeous backless cholis. But one should keep in mind that a glow-less back is a big put-off.” Here are few handy tips that will make your back look smooth and shiny: Waxing: Waxing is a great way to get rid of excess hair and make the back look much softer. Back polishing: A popular option for a shiny back. It makes the back smooth and gives your skin a glow worth flaunting. It helps in getting rid of dead skin and moisturises the skin. Bleaching: Bleaching is a great option that most of adopt for our face and neck. But it can do wonders for your back as well. Make up: While applying makeup, don’t forget your back. All exposed body parts should have the same tone. The skin with two different tones can look bizarre. Apply a good moisturiser over which you can apply a primer and concealer to cover marks if any. Remember to apply a small amount of bronzer or glitter powder to give your back that sparkling look. Follow these simple tips and go backless like never before, this Diwali. | ||
