Help your body, stay fit

Help your body, stay fit

Do you suffer from acidity and indigestion? After a late night out, especially after consuming alcohol, do you wake up the next morning with a headache? Do you also suffer from major sugar cravings and low immunity? If these things are troubling you, then you should know that your body needs help.

Excessive toxins in the body can cause headaches
As we go on with the routine activities of life — working, partying, eating out and consuming large amounts of foods containing synthetic chemicals — our body keeps accumulating toxins. Along with processed food, we also take in artificial flavourings and colours, sweetners and preservatives found in diet colas, soft drinks, ice creams, chips and other food items. These chemical toxins develop in the liver and eventually flow into the blood stream. The blood then transports them to various organs, muscles and joints. Eventually, the body gets packed with toxins and the organs begin to malfunction. The stored toxins can cause headaches, joint pains, bloating, skin rashes, hair loss and dry skin. Poor functioning of the liver can cause water retention, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and unstable blood sugar levels too. To prevent such situations, you need to look into your eating habits. Once you have realised that your system is not functioning as well as it used to, this is what you need to do.

Drink lots of water:
Start your day by drinking one litre of water. Body cells get dehydrated if the water level is not adequate; the body then can’t get rid of toxins. Drinking lots of water also helps cleanse the kidneys and purify the blood.

Fast once in a week: This is applicable only to those lead a life of excess. That means, it is meant for those who frequently eat outside food, don’t exercise, consume alcohol, smoke, eat fried and sugar laden foods etc. Fasting gives the digestive system a break and allows the body to reserve its energy and get rid of toxins.

Consume a lot of fibre: It’s very important to avoid constipation. This can be achieved by including a lot of fibre in your diet, or by eating papaya, prunes, spinach and wheat bran. By clearing your bowels every day, you can avoid the growth of unfriendly organisms in your large intestine.
