Maharashtra State Education Board releases booklet to give details of online admission process

The online admission booklet that describes the process and rules for the benefit of the students is available at Karamveer Bhaurao Patil College situated in Vashi and Peoples Education Society in Belapur. The booklet provides an indepth understanding on the whole online system in both English and Marathi language.
The 199-page booklet demonstrates the step by step format that students need to adhere to while filing in details for admission. From the eligibility factor to the number of preference that each admission form need, all have been explained in detail. "The online admission process for FYJC classes is applicable to all recognised junior colleges. We have distributed 3000 booklets for Nerul-CBD ward and 8500 booklets for the Vashi, Koparkhairane and Airoli ward," said an official from the education department.
One of the unique features of the online admission process has to do with the data sharing by Maharashtra State Education Board. Accordingly, students can get their details upon entering their seat numbers. Applicants are not only required to make careful selection of junior colleges while filing their order of preference, but also take a note of the fee structure for aided and unaided division in the same junior college.
"There shall be only one application per applicant. While giving preference for bifocal stream applicants are required to give minimum five but not more than 25 preferences. With regard to general sub streams in arts, science and commerce preference are required to be given in three parts. In the first part minimum 15 but not more than 30 preferences from the entire MMR are to be given while in the second part, applicants are required to select any one zone. From the zone selected minimum 15 but not more than 20 preferences must be given. In the third part, they have to select any two wards from the zone selected above. From these wards selected, minimum five but not more than 10 preferences must be given," he said.
With regard to the rules for admission, students scoring a minimum of 40% marks in science subjects at the qualifying examination are eligible for the admission to FYJC science. However, no such condition is in place for admissions to FYJC Arts/Commerce classes. Similarly, students who have opted for general mathematics in Std IX and Std X are not eligible for the sub stream bifocal and neither are they eligible to opt for mathematics in any of the stream. "The booklet will eliminate any possible doubts that students have with regard to system and specification in place. In case doubt persists then the booklet also provides the information about guidance centers zone wise," the official added.
